The manslaughter trial of Hardee County grandmother Tracy Nix seated a jury on Monday ahead of the trials expected start on Tuesday, January 14th at 8:30 a.m. Nix is being tried for the death of her 7-month-old granddaughter after she left the infant in a hot car in 2022. Nix’s attorneys argued the case had too much publicity for a fair trial in Hardee County. The Tampa Police Department is holding a press conference on Monday at 11 a.m. to discuss safety efforts for the upcoming Gasparilla Parades.

FOX 13 Meteorologist Dave Osterberg says temperatures will be warmer on Monday with highs in the lower 70s. Rain moves in, though, as it gets dark Monday evening. Temperatures will drop again by Tuesday, with highs back in the 60s and lows in the 40s across much of the Bay Area.
